ABOUT THE ART CLUB

Welcome to Our Creative Community

Established in 1936, the Vero Beach Art Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has served as the cultural heartbeat of Indian River County for nearly nine decades. What began with a small group of visionary local artists has expanded into a vibrant network of over 600 members.

Located in the heart of the historic Vero Beach Arts District, our club provides an open and welcoming environment for professional artists, emerging talents, and art enthusiasts alike. Through classes, workshops, open studios, rotating gallery exhibits, and a unique art marketplace, we create dynamic opportunities for members and art lovers to connect, create, and collect.

OUR MISSION

To foster appreciation of art, artistic growth, and educational opportunities for our members; support community art education through classes and programs for youth, veterans, and local recreation; and award annual grants to art teachers and scholarships to students pursuing art degrees.

OUR VISION

The Vero Beach Art Club aspires to be the region’s premier leader in promoting and celebrating fine art across Indian River County. We elevate our community through vibrant exhibitions of our members' work, accessible educational programs, and direct support for local schools, teachers, veterans programs, and student scholarships.

Leadership & Volunteerism

The Vero Beach Art Club is powered by the passion of volunteers. Our Board of Directors—comprising 5 Officers and 7 Directors-at-Large—meets monthly to guide the strategic vision, outreach, and operations of the club.

Whether sitting as a gallery host, assisting with major events like Under the Oaks, or mentoring students, our members drive every success story at the club.

What We Do

Exhibitions & Signature Events

The Vero Beach Art Club hosts several of the region’s most celebrated annual art shows and events, connecting local and national artists with the public:

Under the Oaks
Fine Arts Show

Our premier outdoor show, recognized nationally for showcasing exceptional fine art and craftsmanship beneath Vero Beach’s iconic live oaks.

Art in the Park

A seasonal outdoor exhibition series highlighting original paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and photography in a scenic parkfront setting.

First Friday
Gallery Strolls

Held monthly in the Arts District, opening our doors to the community for evening receptions, live demonstrations, and featured member showcases.

Art Education
& Workshops

Creativity thrives when nurtured. We offer year-round learning opportunities at our studio space:

Classes & Master Workshops: Taught by experienced member artists covering oil, cold wax, watercolor, acrylics, pastel, ceramics, and mixed media.
Open Studios: Dedicated creative time for artists to practice, experiment, and collaborate in a supportive environment.

IN THE COMMUNITY

The generosity of our donors and the dedicated support of our partners allow us to bring the healing, inspiring power of art to everyone across Indian River County—regardless of physical or financial limitations.

Scholarships for Future Artists: Annually, the club awards multiple scholarships (including $2,000 awards) to graduating high school seniors at local schools like Vero Beach High School and Indian River Charter High School to support their collegiate art studies.
Arts for Smarts: In partnership with the School District of Indian River County, we provide direct art supply grants to public elementary and middle school art teachers to help resource local classrooms.
Veterans’ Creative Therapy: A monthly program offering local veterans a welcoming environment to explore drawing, painting, and creative expression as a form of therapy, connection, and community.
Public Beautification & Specialized Outreach: From public art installations to specialized outreach initiatives—such as our inmate art programs—we work continuously to increase the visibility and accessibility of art across public spaces.
